Skills Assessment
Kohinoor Legal supports skills assessment applications across a range of occupations and professions, working alongside the relevant assessing authority for your occupation.
How skills assessment works
Different occupations and professions are assessed by different assessing authorities, each with their own evidence and documentation requirements. The pathway that applies to you depends on your occupation, qualifications, experience, and the relevant authority's own rules.
Kohinoor Legal
We assist with the legal and professional aspects of preparing and progressing your application — understanding the process and organising your evidence.
The Assessing Authority
Assessments are conducted independently by the relevant assessing body. Requirements vary by occupation and authority, and an outcome is never guaranteed.
Find your pathway
Kohinoor Legal supports skills assessment across the following occupation and profession families.
Preparing your application
What kinds of evidence tend to matter
Exact requirements are set by the relevant assessing authority and vary by occupation. In general, assessments can draw on evidence across the following kinds of areas.
Identity & qualification evidence
Formal identity documents and evidence of your qualifications, where relevant to your occupation.
Employment & work-history evidence
A record of relevant employment, roles held, and duration of experience in the occupation.
Role & task evidence
Evidence describing the specific duties and tasks performed, relevant to how the occupation is defined.
Supporting documentation
Additional documentation an assessing authority may request to support an application.
Authority-specific requirements
Each assessing authority sets its own additional requirements, which we can help you understand.
What to expect
A straightforward process from first conversation to next steps.
1. Consultation
We discuss your occupation, qualifications, and experience.
2. Evidence review
We review your documentation against the relevant authority's requirements.
3. Next steps
We advise on the pathway available and, where instructed, assist with your application.
If your assessment outcome raises questions
Assessment outcomes can sometimes raise further questions — for example, where evidence needs to be clarified, or where a review or reassessment process offered by the relevant authority may be relevant. Kohinoor Legal can advise on the options available once you have an outcome from your assessing authority.
A positive skills assessment is often one part of a broader migration strategy — it does not, on its own, produce a visa outcome. Immigration Law is a separate, independent service — see Immigration Law if you also need visa or migration advice.
Discuss your skills assessment
A clear first step, no obligation — we’ll discuss your situation directly with our Principal.
